Map Info Card & Discovery Controls

Configure your map title card, rich markdown descriptions, action buttons, card styling, search bar, and category filter rails in the Map Info panel.

Overview & Panel Architecture

The Map Info panel unifies your map's top-level identity card and visitor discovery features in one centralized workspace. While marker and shape info cards provide localized details for individual pins, the Map Info Card serves as the persistent welcome banner and narrative anchor for your entire project—introducing the venue, outlining important announcements, and offering primary call-to-action buttons.

Accessing Map Info: In the left editor sidebar, open Customize (Paintbrush icon) > Map Info (or load the editor directly with ?tab=customize&panel=map-info) to configure card text, layout dimensions, glassmorphism styles, and visitor discovery tools.
Persistent Welcome Card

Floats unobtrusively in the corner of your public map, displaying the official project title, rich markdown description, brand hero image, and interactive action buttons.

Discovery Control Hub

Centralizes visitor navigation controls: toggle real-time pin keyword search and interactive category filter rails to help visitors drill down into relevant locations.

Card Content (Title, Description, Media & Buttons)

The Map Info Card comprises four distinct content sections. Each section can be independently toggled on or off, styled, and customized to match your branding:

Map Name & Typography

Sets the primary title of your map with live character counter limits. Customize typography with curated brand fonts, font sizes (12px–36px), font weights (regular, medium, bold), text colors, and left or center alignment.

Rich Markdown Description

Provides rich text context, visitor guidelines, operating hours, or event schedules. The editor supports bold, italics, clickable hyperlinks, bulleted lists, and dedicated typography styling controls.

Card Hero Media & Fitting

Select or upload a banner image from your map media library. Configure aspect ratios (compact, landscape, square, wide) and image fitting modes (Fill/Cover vs. Fit/Contain) to ensure clean framing.

Action CTA Buttons

Add interactive call-to-action buttons for ticket booking, inquiry forms, phone dialing, or external websites. Choose between stacked vertical lists or horizontal row arrangements with custom gap spacing.

Dimensions, Order & Content Padding

Fine-tune the exact footprint and visual balance of the card to complement your underlying floorplan or schematic:

Layout & Dimension Parameters
  • Fixed Card Width: Adjust the desktop card width from 260px to 600px (default: 336px) to accommodate concise titles or expansive descriptions.
  • Drag-and-Drop Section Order: Rearrange visible sections in any sequence (e.g. Place Image above Name, or Buttons directly below the Title) using intuitive grip handles.
  • Section Gap Spacing: Control vertical breathing room between content sections from 0px to 24px.
  • Content Padding (X & Y): Independently adjust horizontal side margins and vertical top/bottom inner padding (up to 32px).

Appearance, Glassmorphism & Frame Borders

Layerpin provides rich styling controls to match the card seamlessly with dark mode maps, corporate brand palettes, or minimalist architectural aesthetics:

Background & Opacity

Configure solid fill colors, linear or radial gradients, or subtle card background textures with variable opacity sliders (0%–100%).

Backdrop Blur (Frosted Glass)

Applies a modern frosted glass blur effect behind the card, allowing underlying map pathways and colors to softly bleed through while keeping foreground text razor sharp.

Frame Stroke & Dashes

Customize outer border strokes: stroke width (1px–8px), solid or gradient fills, dash patterns (solid, dashed, dotted), line caps, and join geometry.

Corner Roundness & Elevation

Fine-tune corner radius curves (from sharp 0px corners to rounded 32px capsules) and toggle soft ambient drop shadows for depth separation.

Default State & Desktop Collapse Behavior

Manage how the card behaves upon map opening and how visitors can expand or minimize it during exploration:

Default Expanded:

When enabled, visitors see the full card upon loading. When disabled, the card starts in a sleek collapsed pill state showing just the map title, giving instant visual priority to the canvas.

Collapse Button (Desktop):

Renders a discreet minimize/expand toggle button in the card header, letting desktop visitors collapse the card whenever they need an unobstructed view.

Mobile Responsive Adaptation: On mobile phones and tablet viewports, Layerpin automatically collapses the Map Info Card into an ergonomic bottom drawer. Selecting any pin or shape keeps the map info row accessible while expanding the item's details card.

Search Box & Category Discovery Controls

In addition to the Info Card itself, the Map Info panel houses the global visitor discovery switches:

Search Box Toggle

Enables a floating search bar allowing visitors to quickly look up locations by marker title, keywords in descriptions, assigned tags, or custom structured fields.

Category Filters Toggle

Enables the interactive category filter rail, allowing visitors to filter by floor level, operational status, room type, or department with real-time pin isolation.

Desktop Filter Layouts (Full vs. Compact)

When category filters are enabled, configure how filter dimensions are arranged on desktop screens:

Full (Horizontal Rail)

Renders filter pill buttons across a horizontal top toolbar with touch dragging, wheel scrolling, and edge masks. Ideal for maps with 2–5 primary filter dimensions.

Compact (Dropdown Popover)

Consolidates all filter dimensions into a single compact 'Filters' button with an active counter badge, preserving vertical canvas space on laptops and embedded frames.
